Nottingham’s licensed premises will find out who has scooped the hard-earned Best Bar None Awards at the long-awaited ceremony which takes place later this month. The Best Bar None Awards ceremony will be held at Alea Casino and is booked for Tuesday 15th November. The who’s who of Nottingham’s Licensed trade will be in attendance to see which operators have been recognised for their commitment to responsible management. The Awards celebrate the licensed premises in the City Centre that have put in place additional policies and procedures to provide the safest possible environment to their visitors, and each venue attending on the night will have already been through a 2 hour comprehensive assessment to establish their eligibility for the Awards. The highest scoring premises were then scrutinised by a group of Licensing experts to decide who would win in the categories of Best Small Pub, Best Large Pub, Best Medium Bar, Best Large Bar and Best Club. Over 3,000 Nottingham locals have voted in the same categories for the nightlife spots that they feel offer the “Best Customer Experience”. This year, Awards organisers garnered votes at various events across the county including Fresher’s Fairs and the Robin Hood Beer Festival. 43 venues passed the assessment to become Best Bar None accredited venues, and these made up the shortlist that Nottingham’s public voted against. Sylvia Oates, Chief Executive of We Are Nottingham, the Leisure Business Improvement District and organisers of the scheme, said: “Best Bar None is a great way for the businesses to work in partnership with the authorities to help make the city centre a better place for everyone to visit at night. “We have been incredibly impressed with the standard of entries this year. Many entrants have worked hard to up their game from last year, introducing innovative new ideas to provide their customers with the best possible experience.” A full list of Best Bar None accredited venues can be found online at www.nottinghambbn.co.uk. |
