BIRMINGHAM BEST BAR NONE 2009 NEWSLETTER – MARCH Launch This year’s launch took place on Tuesday, 27th January at the Old Contemptibles (winner of the Best CityCentre Pub Award in 2008). 126 Expressions of Interest have been received. Category numbers are as follows:-
Assessments Assessments started week commencing 9th March and are scheduled to run until week ending 5th June (12 week assessment period). An additional ten assessors have passed the BIIAB Level 2 Award in Assessment of Licensed Premises (Social Responsibility) examination so CONGRATULATIONS to our new assessors. We now have a total of 30 trained assessors. Twenty-three assessments have been scheduled and the remaining venues are being contacted to book appointments. Media Coverage The launch was covered in the Birmingham Mail on 29th January. In addition, articles have featured in CAMRA’s Spring 2009 Newsletter, the Scene Magazine (February March edition) and Redbrick, the University of Birmingham’s Student Newspaper (20th February 2009).
